So it is for editing. 🙂 Have you looked into how an editor like iD does it? I
think it iterates through the relation members, loading them asynchronously.
This is technically less efficient but more intentional, so it avoids the issue
of clients (others, not you) accidentally requesting something uncontrollable
like [boundaries with
subareas](https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/proposed-removal-of-subarea-members-from-us-boundary-relations/122865).
