I'd say the obvious use case is the /map endpoint. Sometimes way nodes a quite
far apart. /map fails to return ways which are just crossing a bounding box,
but don't have a single node inside. With PostGIS in place this wouldn't be
much of an issue anymore. Today, some clients run multiple requests or try with
bigger bounding boxes to mitigate the issue.
