Noticing the same thing here. Same point was raised several months ago on Port80 forums, and a lot of folks suggested that people are spending less, therefore companies see need to streamline processes (with a web app), improve sales (with a web site), or set up processes (using a web app) so things can still run when they need to let staff go.
Not sure how true those points are, but those are certainly the things I would be thinking about.
