If you're just starting out what's wrong with paypal's website payment
standard (wps)?  It's hosted with limited to no control over the hosted part
except for a banner, but I'm personally more comfortable knowing it;s going
through a bank or major gateway than just using someone's site directly.

There is actually an issue with wps - they don't make it obvious at the
payment phase that you don't need to have a paypal account in order to pay.
It's almost like they make that option intentionally smaller than the paypal
login.  I've seen at least one site that has a little diagram next to the
paypal button explaining this.  Still, it's pretty easy to set up.
