I'd also add that there are certain parts of the world (i.e HK, China, most
of Asia... ) where not having a business card will make you look like an
amateur, so they are a partially unavoidable investment if you're doing any
international business (as well as certain sectors).

That said, *anything* which is reflecting your brand and image to the public
is not something you really want to skimp on.

Good business cards can really help though. I know I've done business with
companies whose branding I've been impressed with because it expressed an
overall emphasis on detail, design and quality.
