If you intend to be running your own server, welcome to a whole new level of 
holy-shit-what-is-all-this-stuff-I-need-to-configure-and-why-is-my-site-down. 

I recommend getting a VPS rather than having your own physical box. If you 
don't care about location - Linode is good.

Or stick to Heroku and you'll never have to care about all this server stuff 
(it will take up a very very very large portion of your time and cause 
never-ending stress).
