RichAlso depends on what editor you like to use. If you are planning on using something like RubyMine you will suffer with 4GB of RAM. For Sublime, VIM, etc you will be fine.

The tech specs are better than my current Windows laptop, which works fine for me, but I've never developed on a Mac so I'm not sure if should be spending the extra on MacBook Pro.
