First, thank you to everyone who replied.
Unfortunately my time and budget limitations really only leave me with two
off the shelf choices:
- 13" MacBook Air with 4GB
- 15" MacBook Pro (also 4GB but can be upgraded later)
I preferred the Air because it was lighter but was worried that 4GB
wouldn't be enough. It sounds like that isn't the case.
Secondly, I agree about keeping this thread free from the Mac versus PC
religious war. I posted here because I've never developed on a Mac and I
didn't want to waste money on an Air only to discover that I really need a
Pro. I know a lot of the rails community uses Mac's so it seemed like the
logical thing was to ask for advice.
