I like his library, I just wish he'd test in IE when he makes major
changes that totally break functionality (like cleanWhitespace in the
latest release in IE - there have been other examples).

I've submitted a couple patches over the last year, and some eventually
got implemented. He never said a word to me, though. Would've liked a
'hey thanks' or even just some acknowledgement that he cared about the
community.

I really wish he would either be more involved, or release it to the
community to be maintained. As it is, I'm stuck with scriptaculous 1.5
because I can't upgrade prototype until it's fixed. Will it ever be
fixed? Who knows? This is the problem when one person maintains total
control over a project; if he buggers off, everyone else is S.O.L.

I guess I shouldn't complain about free software.
