I have have been in and out of Rangernet periodically, but just had to share
tonight, though no words can adequately express what has happened. For the
last two days it has been hard to hold the tears. My heart is breaking for
all the families who have lost loved ones in such an incomprehensible
tragedy. My prayers have poured out of a broken heart and I can't even
imagine the sorrow the are facing. Nothing I have ever experienced has even
come close. I wonder if little Rangers have come home from school and have
to wait and see if mom or dad is caught in the rubble. I'm not a fluent
speaker when it comes to expressing my thoughts and feelings, but my heart
is so heavy for those who have died, I just had to share. I wonder how many
were saved? So many lives were lost, but how many lives have been lost for
all eternity. I pray that we go out and reach the lost in our city with love
and compassion. I couldn't help but read through Matthew 24 and wonder if
this could be a birthing pain of the last days. I also look to many Psalms
for comfort. Psalm 127:5-6 comes particularly to mind. "Those who sow in
tears will reap with songs of joy. He who goes out weeping carrying seeds to
sow will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him." I pray that
in time all their sorrow will turn into tears of joy.

Do we know if any of our fellow Rangers have been affected? I ask not to
demean the others who have died or are suffering, but I thought maybe if
someone knew of any Ranger or Rangers we could lend more personal assistance
and prayers to those whom we share a special bond with.

With prayers,

Sheriff Rainy
