All,
Last night at the Wednesday meeting our Children's pastor (also the Outpost
Chaplain) had all the Missionettes and Rangers come into the kids'
sanctuary.
He had a list of prayer topics on the overhead and asked that a missionette
or a ranger volunteer to pray over each topic. Prior to the meeting he had
Ranger leaders and Missionette sponsors sign up to pray. The children came
up and stood on front of the adult and prayed first.
We wanted the kids to see their leaders praying over this situation and to
have an opportunity to join their prayers as well. What an encouragement to
see these kids praying, crying, seeking God for victims, victims' families,
and terrorists and their families as well.
We had a special called prayer meeting in the church on Tuesday night.
What an incredible time of brokenness before the Lord.
Pastor quoted from Jeremiah, "You have forsaken Me, and death has flown in
the window."
Now is the time for the Church to rise up, shake off the dust, and cry out
to God for the turning of this nation. America can get revenge, we can get
the last drop of blood in retribution, but if we, the Church, do not seize
the horns of the altar and cry out to God to fill us with zeal for His
house, and a hunger to see every soul have an opportunity to hear the
Gospel, then we will have "blood guilt" as well.
Let's pray that God will fill us with Jesus' love for everyone and that He
will give us opportunities to pour it out so that He may fill us again.
