Hi to all,

With this post, I'm crawling out of my lurker's nest again, first of all to
offer my sincere condolences to all of the Americans on this list. Please
know that we are standing with you in our prayers in this terrible
situation.

Brother, I think you have hit the most important point: Even in all the
tragedy and suffering, I believe that the aftermath of this catastrophe
contains a huge opportunity for the church all over the Western world. Just
look around, even in areas not directly affected by the terrorist attacks
and you will find that people are afraid. Why? Because all the seeming
security that they have been building their lives on over the past years,
has suddenly broken away. The Western world, that's a place where you can
live secure, rich, fulfilled lives, without anything major that's ever going
to happen to you, no? All of a sudden you have many people who don't know
what to rely on any more--and, guess what, we have the answers for the
questions they are asking!
The confusion and trouble that has resulted from this terrorist attack is
heartbreaking, but at the same time it is a unique chance to proclaim the
gospel of Jesus Christ as a foundation you can build your life on, something
that can never break down or be destroyed by a terrorist.
In this time of calamity, let us be salt and light, a living testimony, even
more than ever before.

God bless you,

                  Toph
