My husband worked with homeless and mentally retarded adults in St. Louis for a long time. A lot of your homeless people on the street are there because they want to be there. No flames. I just mean that they are more comfortable outside the confines of a building ...especially a building with rules. They often go and get fed and then go out again. Of course that is not always the case. But when someone acts this way in public, it often means that they need medical help or they have medicine that causes them to do things out of the ordinary. Just driving away and leaving him alone was perfectly acceptAble. In our society it is hard to know who is scamming you and who is not. But when you give, give freely and it is unto Christ. He may have been "the least of these" and he may have been a con. doesn't matter. confrontation is not called for and prayer is. He may just have a bad temper and we ought not to reward bad behavior with attention at any age.
