Well, let me say, that I feel their are two types of angels. Messengers of God and warrior. I get this for when Joshua was standing on a hill(mountain) an angel appeared. He asked who side or you on. The angel answered neither. That we know of two arch angels, names Gabriel and Michael. We also know in the Bible, that cherubs were fierce beast, wings that covered the top of the throne to the bottom. I don't think angels are either sex either. And maybe they can appear what would please us. One interesting point and question is did Mary see an angel in masculine form or did the author make it a masculine.
Okay maybe I am way off here, my little mind sometimes over works, but these are interesting points. And maybe God wanted to encourage you. Who knows you can ask when you get there, I know I am full questions. About nature, in Revelation we know after the tribulation God will create a new Earth.
