Troop 328 has a boy who just turned in his last requirements for Eagle before turning 18..
This young man "DJ" comes from a single Mom's home andis known as one tuff kid. Many times he's been physical.. and on the edge of trouble. He presented himself to the troops Board of review as a final act before turning in his paperwork, and my wife Cdr.Jenifer sat on that board. DJ answered the questions straight on and from the heart. "People know me as a hard guy, and now I see that isn't the memory I want to leave with all of you who know me. You may not beleve this, but in my heart I have accepted Christ and through him I see the many hours that were invested in my success as a scout by people who beleved in me when I didn't beleve in myself." Scoutmasters know---- Two things are sure to sink your Eagle award.. 1. Lack of a admited "Duty to God" 2. A criminal charge With his Eagle board on this Wed. night- For his birthday DJ recieved a pass to the snowboard park on Mt.Hood Oregon, while in the shop.. DJ picked up a armload of snowboards and headed out the door. The shop keeper told him to stop, he did.. The shop keeper told him to he was stealing.. He admitted that was true. The shop is pressing theft charges... *Eagle Scout?
