This part of the class dealt with setting fire to the hankerchief. Have already prepared two clear glass bowls. One will have alcohol in it and the other water. They look alike. Do not let the boys near enough to smell them. Have close by tongs, handkerchief and matches. Tell the boys about the three Hebrew children, or the burning bush, or any other story where fire does NOT consume. Dip the handkerchief into the bowl of alcohol and start to wring it out and fan it a little as you finish your story. Do not have it too wet and do not dry it too much. Hold it with the tongs and let another commander light the match to the corner of the handkerchief. The flames will go higher than you think. Don't let it burn but a few seconds. Just long enough to impress the boys. Dip it into the bowl of water (pleeeeease do not get mixed up with the alcohol) Wring it out again and show there is no damage, no scortching and say that is how the three Hebrew children came out of the fiery furnace. Not even smelling like smoke. Try this at home first. It is more effective with the lights off. Stay tuned. _______ Let the Golden Rule be your daily rule.
