This here talk of dancin' around reminds me of the first night of Elite Corps (Louisiana Ditrict's AJTC) at the La. Royal Ranger Training Academy in 1982. I had slipped a tarantula in my buddy John Gibson's sleeping bag. He got in all nice and cozy, zipped up to the gills - the way he liked, before he took notice that sometin' wuz in there with him. It started out nonchalant enough: just a little grunting and fidgeting. But it soon grew to a loud, staccato rythym. Then the bag started dancing. Rangernet, if you have never seen a sleeping bag dance before, I heartily reccommend that you do not pass up the next opportunity to do so. There are moves that a sleeping bag can make that Jennifer Beale on FLASHDANCE could never have achieved in her wildest dreams. This sleeping bag went under bunkbeads, over backpacks, and headlong through a window, faster than Moody's goose. And the sounds that were by this time emitting from within it's polyfill lining were enough to break the yellar of an egg without bustin' the shell. have a dark lense on and fire isn't bright enough to detect. Smell, heat and
pain are the usual indications that something (or someone) is on fire. I've
done a bit of backyard welding too. One time while welding a frame at about
chest height a molten piece fell onto my tennis shoe and proceded to burn
its way through. By the time it hit my skin it would in no way come back out
no matter how much I danced around on one foot and shook it violently and
spasmatically while screaming bloody murder.
Needless to say it left quite a scar for quite a while.
My wife is used to my antics (God bless her patient soul). One day a spiny
lizard ran up my pantleg and luckily got stopped at the knee. I had no idea
what it was but I sure did a jig while hollering until he came back out. I
think I know how the Indians came up with their dances!
