I asked this question at our District Council. Although 
the older age group program has been delayed until 2003, 
they said that it is still okay to go the Merit route 
for Trailbalzers/Trailrangers. It won't harm you, only 
benefit you. I believe the Pioneers should still be 
working on the current track. There is a handout that 
you can get that shows the transition of the current 
track to the new one. It is current, but things can 
always change. Hope this helps.
