Over the course of the past twelve months I have had the privilege of serving as Programs Coordinator for the Southern California District.  My responsibilities have included the presentation of the new 21st Century Royal Rangers program to Outposts and Sections within our district. As I've traveled throughout the district in fulfilling these responsibilities, I have witnessed an incredible transformation in the hearts and minds of Royal Ranger leaders and boys.  What was once viewed as unnecessary, unwarranted, unlikely to succeed and counter-productive is now being welcomed enthusiastically, heralded as a milestone in the history of the Royal Rangers ministry and its implementation eagerly anticipated. Resistance to change is nothing new.  Throughout the history of mankind, change has been met with questions, viewed with suspicion and received only reluctantly!  However, we must constantly guard against allowing ourselves the pleasure of basking in the after-glow of past victories and continuously seek and follow His guidance.  We must remember that personal agendas, rigid mind-sets, and comfort in traditions often prevent us from being sensitive to the strategies of the Holy Spirit. God's purpose is unchanged!  His purpose has always been, is now, and will continue to be that of reconciling fallen mankind to Himself through Jesus Christ!  The Royal Rangers ministry is and will remain an important vehicle in the fulfilling of His Great Commission!
