I have learned as a Sr. Commander that if the pastor is not fully behind Rangers as his Sr. Commander I have not shown him my vision for his and my outpost. I have had time that Pastor was and behind Rangers but not through prayer and painting the picture of the vision Rangers he has been a great help. WE do not get funds for Rangers from the main account but he has had classrooms built and help with our fund raises. And pastor also give me time not only in the evening service but also in the morning service from time to time.

So Sr. commander are a key but the Pastor should always be the head as a leader and example to our boys.

I have been thinking about the subject of the pastor being the key to a successful Royal Ranger ministry.  I know that it says that in our training material.  However that is very vague.  What does that exactly mean what his role is?  I think that it is giving the go ahead to begin Royal Rangers and he is for it, and possibly some funds and a few minutes on Sunday 3 or 4 times a year to promote Rangers.  Yes, I know that isn't much, but that is the most we can expect most times.
That brings me to my opinion.  Outside of the Lord I believe the Sr Commander is the most important key.  His leadership is essential to the success of Rangers.  As an earlier letter stated the rest of the leaders will not exceed his commitment.  Pastor not fully on board with Rangers, then the Sr Commander must convince him as well as others of the value of Rangers.  He will have his hand in just about everything going on.  Sr Commander, when we blame others including the pastor for having a poor program we need to look first at ourselves.
Any other comments about this.  This could be a very interesting discussion of the Sr Commander.
