I have been thinking about the subject of the pastor being the key to a successful Royal Ranger ministry. I know that it says that in our training material. However that is very vague. What does that exactly mean what his role is? I think that it is giving the go ahead to begin Royal Rangers and he is for it, and possibly some funds and a few minutes on Sunday 3 or 4 times a year to promote Rangers. Yes, I know that isn't much, but that is the most we can expect most times.
That brings me to my opinion. Outside of the Lord I believe the Sr Commander is the most important key. His leadership is essential to the success of Rangers. As an earlier letter stated the rest of the leaders will not exceed his commitment. Pastor not fully on board with Rangers, then the Sr Commander must convince him as well as others of the value of Rangers. He will have his hand in just about everything going on. Sr Commander, when we blame others including the pastor for having a poor program we need to look first at ourselves.
Any other comments about this. This could be a very interesting discussion of the Sr Commander.
