from Harold . . .   The Southern California District has a Merit Award Camp.  It starts Wednesday night, and ends on Saturday night. (This way most commanders only have to take 2 days off work).  Each boy picks two awards.  The following awards are offered:  Camping, Insect Study, First Aid/CPR, Firecraft, Cooking, Marksmanship, Nature Study, Carpentry, Archery, Wilderness Survival, and Hiking.   The object is to give the boys all the necessary information needed for the award, most are completed at camp, but a few you have to finish at home.   The boys really like this camp, they do no cooking or clean-up.   Everybody in the Southern California District should consider this camp, it is August 7 -10.    If you would like more information, let me know.
