There are 51 other weeks in the year.  I would venture to guess this one week end was picked using the pin on the donkey method.  Wisdom is looking at what is out there and making a good decision from it.  We had 5 boys saved or rededicated at last years pow wow from our Outpost.  These boys were at 50 plus church services 50 plus, Sunday School, Childrens Church and wed night meetings and some 10 RR Campouts but after 3 days of Pow Wow Holy Ghost inspired camping, training, competitions, services.  The Holy Spirit really moves at Pow Wow the boys going forward
Rebellion is not an issue here.  Wisdom is.
A wise Pastor with a vision for Royal Rangers would not make a poor decision as this and keep it.  He would look at the calendar and pick a nonconflicting weekend after all there are 40 prime other weekends to choose from.

I rest my case.
As for me and my Outpost we will be at Pow Wow.

Ah brother Mark,

Let's look at this from a different angle. I am with you on encouraging the boys to attend Pow-Wow. Seen many wonderful things happen to young men at Pow-Wow over the years.

Now think of the potential for outreach from a Church Outing. If it was me I would invite the parents of all the boys who do not attend our church on Sunday (over half of my outpost). Just think of the evangelism if you can get the parents of these boys to this outing. Man, it makes my heart go pitter-patter.

Granted, there are many weekends available to carry out a Church outing of this sort. What we do not know from the earlier post is the why this weekend was chosen by the Pastor and Staff. In my eyes it does not matter because this is what the Pastor has chosen and unless I want to be in rebellion,I follow his lead. It may not be my personal choice, but I will submit for if I do not then I become a hypocrite to the boys and Ranger pledge.

Of course this is only my humble opinion.

Blessings,

Bob Triphahn

Another prospect.  Explain that Pow Wow is the pinnacle of the RR year.
It has been on the District Schedule for 3 years.  The boys and outpost
have been working towards this event.  With "All" aspects of the training
coming in to it.  It is a chance to show yourself approved. As a healthy
outpost you should also be there to assist and witness to the others by
serving there as well.   Besides all the other blessings it is a great
time to learn and reflect.  There are a lot of weeks in the year.  Could
we do this Church Campout on another  weekend?

I will say I am committed to the Royal Ranger Ministry.  I believe in it
and have commitments and a calling from the Lord to be there.  To by pass
a 4 Day district pow wow would not be my 1st, 2nd, or 3rd choice.
