A MULE NAMED HINEY
This FCF mountain man and Royal Ranger son wanted to go to town. They
lived in the mountains and traveled with a pack mule. The mule was
named HINEY. So the boy rode HINEY off the mountain. As they passed a
cabin, a couple was sitting on the front porch. The couple said
something loud enough for the Rangers to hear. Will you look at
that! Letting that poor old man walk and that young healthy boy
ride. So the boy got off HINEY and let his Dad ride.
As they passed another house, two more people were in the yard. And
the Rangers heard them talking too. I cant believe it! That full
grown adult is riding and that young boy is walking. Shame on that
old man. Well the man got off HINEY and they both walked on.
Then they passed the last house on the mountain. Sure enough a
couple of men were in the garden as the Rangers passed by. Both
Rangers heard them talking this time. They said, Look at that poor
old mule they are walking!! They should be carry that sick looking
animal. So the dad and boy looked at each other and said,
I guess we will carry Ole HINEY.
Just as they were about to enter in to town carrying their HINEY.
They had to pass over a long wooden bridge that was over a very
steep walled river. HINEY began to fight and holler as the Rangers
maneuvered across the treacherous water bridge. The Rangers lost
control of HINEY in the center of the bridge and OLE HINEY fall to
her death in the deep river.
The Rangers cried and finally realized a great moral lesson about
life, just happened before their eyes.
