Now that you are safe and I'm glad that you are, did you go and harvest the coconuts?
Frankly, the thought didn't even cross our minds at that point. Its not like coconuts were rare or anything... plenty ripe ones had already fallen (a good reason not to rest under a coconut tree), and you could find plenty of willing boys to climb one to get a green one (good for drinking the liquid from).

- On Friday morning, the 10th of May, 2002, we saw an example of just how much we appreciate your prayers, including prayers for safety. We were walking from Bulal to Damokin as a family, to visit with another Pacific Orientation Course student. While walking along a dirt road (jeep trail) through a coconut plantation, we heard a "creaking" sound and saw a huge (about 30 meter tall) coconut tree falling directly towards us. Its roots must have been weakened by the heavy rains. I shouted "Look out!" Evan jumped ahead, and Lori and Nate jumped back to avoid the path of the tree. Ben and I jumped sideways to avoid a part of a sago palm tree that the coconut tree sideswiped on the way down. The massive tree trunk hit the ground with a huge "thud" right between Evan and the rest of us. After the initial shock of almost being killed by a falling coconut tree, I looked and saw that our family was safe, and shouted "Thank you, Lord, for your protection!!!"
- We appreciate your prayers!
