*Scoutmaster Scott had a 'word with outgoing SPL Josh Wheeler..
He thanked him, and gave him a "warm fuzzy" then offered a role in the troop as Junior Asst.Scoutmaster. Josh could accept or decline as allways, but the duties would be changed so that Josh understood he would *NOT be part of the Boy's SPL staff.. he would stand back with the Adults, as a Assistant to Scoutmaster. Josh who will turn 18 in Dec. accepted, but showed some regret at standing back for others to assume Leadership... Later he talked with me- "Dad, It's like I have allways been in the center of everything we do with Rangers and with Scouts, and while I am glad to be done with the weight and burden.. of being SPL, I don't know how long I can be interested in doing what the Adults do..." I replied: "Understood, but you have many challenges ahead to find your path in life.. To do that you need time for yourself. The things you have done are remarkible, but the life ahead will be amazeing! Just keep takeing the next step upward, and you'll make the grade<G>" Josh got kind of quiet... He went into his room played a little gametime and then went to bed. Josh is watching the news.. Kids his age are thinking things thru.. They generaly don't arrive at the same conclusion as you and me<G> It must be very rough to see the world news as a end time chess game and hear Bible profecy being preached with "Come Lord Jesus" when you are 17-18 and have not found your life's work yet.. *I'm pullinghard for our boys. In times like these we need to be Alert,Clean,Honest,Couragious Loyal,Courtious, Obedient and *Spiritual.. We need to be all those things in various degrees all the time.. To be prepared, and READY for anything! -=a=- ===== *High MORALE is the Index of effective Leadership. --------------********+********-------------------- Morale raises belief of the Leader in the follower, of the follower in the Leader, of each in themself, and both in the .....cause! __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
