Anyone familiar with the book "I Kissed Dating Goodbye"?  The author Josh Harris begins with a dream of a couple at their wedding.  As the bride and groom recite their vows, others stand and join them in front of the pastor.  The girls stand with the groom and the men stand with the bride.  The point is that for each person the bride or groom dated, a piece of their heart now belongs with that other person and they come into the marriage also.

Josh then goes on to talk about the courtship ritual, starting with a biblical foundation, the necessity for it, the advantages of courtship over dating and more.  I haven't read the entire book yet, but I don't think he gets too far into how to court, actually.  I think he has another book about that aspect of it.  "I Kissed Dating Goodbye" is more for people teaching (or mentoring) young people to have Godly friendships then relationships.  His other book is for the young people who are ready for courtship.

I'm leaning toward courtship for my sons, over dating.  However, I'm not sure that's an appropriate topic for Royal Rangers unless they are of the older group.  Older Pioneers is the questionable age group.  Younger than that, nope, not ready for it.

Just my opinion.
