*About snow... Last year the troop camped in snow caves during a snow storm!
When we do get it we get it deep... *but only uphill on mt.tops as our local weather is the result of warm Pacific Ocean marine climate. "Warm" is a relative term<G> The pacific ocean, when you walk into it will let you count to 10 before you suddenly have the thought that your feet might freeze before you make it back to the sand! This is warm..however- in that it moderates the north corner of the US coast up to the Cascades.. *The "warmth" is known as the Japanese current.. but that effect brings much moisture off the Ocean. What powers the non-stop systems are the upper jet streams that circle the earth.. Weather gathers and moves east to west, and a simi-permament high pressure zone is off the California coast pushing north all the weather.. The proof of this is found in the Mohave desert and the combined states of Calif.,Arizona,Utah,New Mexico,West Texas and Mexico's norte deserts.. They are dry as a bone, and dusty! What they do get in weather is the result of this pressure system moveing south and Northwest weather slips south! *Last night.. Cdr.Jen and I were treated to an excellent sunset as the last sunrays dipped below some beautiful clouds<G> They looked to be traveling fast ahead of a new storm system and turned a brillant Red shade.. *Red sky's at night..
