I turned 60 on Friday, Dec. 27th and it caused me to reflect on the last
year. I had my stroke on Feb. 25th and lost most of the use of my right
side. On my road to recovery, I fell and, although there seemed no results,
an infection began in my system and finally manifested itself because of some
serious fire ant bites on my leg. I had weakness so badly, I could no longer
do anything for myself. As a result, I had to go to the hospital and fight
for my life for two weeks. Now I am at home unable to do much but I have my
life, my speech and am gaining strength.every day. Sometimes I'm not as
grateful as I should be. I'm not thankful all the time. I don't feel like
praying and witnessing. I'm very much human. But, on those days when I stop
looking at what I can't do, and I get above the pain enough to praise Him,
something happens. That "sacrifice of praise" tastes sweeter and sounds
lovlier to God our Father's ears and He can't help but be moved. I'm just
saying that last year was mostly a crummy year for me, but God was still
close by. Whatever this year brings, never lose sight of that fact, God
inhabits the praises of His people. I'd like to hear stories from you guys
as to how praise made a difference. I love y'all, keep praying. I lost a
heel but kept my leg....you watch,....I will walk again. janet
