*Just fresh from Eagle Board training last night.. I'm clear to lead and act a Eagle Board chair<G>
This process I wrote- Has been followed for every rank for every boy in the troop cosistantly. Ken, it is amazeing to see this Troop run! Every Tenderfoot- Every 2nd class- Every 1st class-Star and Life! 80 boys.. and each is known by name and position/place.. The "Boards of review" run like clockwork, as the format for involveing you as a parent in scoutings purpose as a councilor for another boy.. You get to see someone other than your son "on stage" and it builds membership for you to back your boy in his process.. The end result in my son was clear sailing through his Eagle Board and a fearlessness before interviewers! True.. each boy recieves a prepareitory pep talk, and briefing on what to expect on each board.. but when there, it's a real exchange of minds!<G> The Troop's ethic is that *you the boy must show... by evidence to anyone that you deserve to advance. Not just the signed handbook. But the 3 part merit card and it's recorded shadow in the troop register<G> The process is fantastic to earn Eagle. 21 merit badges and 6 mo's proven leadership a Eagle project a review I've seen boys come and lay out 6 years of blue meritcards on a table.. 3 ring binders with project letters and photo's.. Pages of signatures of every meritbadge councilor and scoutmaster- Portland's council office has someone dotting I's and crossing T's! No Eagle can be awarded with only one person involved<G> Duane --- Ken Komoto <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Wow! This ain't the way I remember earning advancements in Boy > Scouts!
