The Jewish calendar is not the same as the Roman
calendar and it is set up differently. It for example would be like trying to
compare the differences between the Metric system and the Standard American
English system of measurement. Years were not always measured the same
way as we presently know it. If there ever was such a thing as a Metric
year, it would go by faster than the present one we observe. Units in the Metric
system are smaller than SAE units of measurement. The point is that things have
changed over the years.
Some people are going to say that the Earth
has slowed down and is losing time but it's not. They can throw the supporting
math at you and the supporting math is very convincing saying that we have lost
a day but we haven't. The lost day was accounted for very early on. If you do
the math from 2003 all the way back the year "0" accounting for leap years and
the likes, it would show you that a day is missing and the story of that the
earth is slowing down would be pushed. God's already dealt with that day before
zero year, explained where that day went and the earth is not slowing
down. (Joshua 10:13 NIV)
the whole point here is that do
you take the prepackaged stuff and accept it blindly, or do you gain in your
understanding by developing your relationship with God by taking the time
to understand the big picture? As the Bible is studied, you learn about the
peoples and the situations they were faced with and how they dealt with so that
they could understand how God's Word was supposed to apply to them and now how
it applies to you. Don't just accept things blindly because you limit your
growth potential when you do that. Give your faith and the reasons why you
believe some substance. (This is an indirect statement, not being made to any
one individual) The website that was referred to is a very good and informative
site and basically went where I had wanted my earlier post to go because it
covered my train of thought on it.

Common sense: Why say "day" (yom) when you mean thousands of years? Exudos 20:11 reads: For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. A year is it 365 days or something else? I know what it is in my life today. I can't say beyond a doubt what it was 4000 years ago. I do believe God's word is infallible but man's interpretation of it...well it is less than perfect. God Bless you my brother.
