Hey gang, I need some help. I've got a couple of new boys in the outpost who have been using bad words while playing and stuff. I would like to teach or have a devotion on being clean in speech. I've drawn a blank. I can't think of any bible story, scripture or good example about not using bad words. Any ideas?
http://eBible.org/prayer/ has a section devoted to controlling your tongue, but more to the point is:
Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear.
A nice illustration was on Focus on the Family radio a couple of years ago, something about letting your words be like golden gift boxes. Maybe your own illustrations from your own experience of words that lifted you up and words that tore you down might be better.
