Hello Brother,

Since our words can be either a gift or a curse to others you can use the following illustration. Have two gift boxes with lids that lift off. Illustrate to the Rangers that when we use words to lift and encourage others it is like giving a good gift (show the box with a good gift inside) and when we use curse words it is like receiving a bad gift (the other box with something that smells bad in it). Have the Rangers who use the curse words help you with the devotion. Ask them to open the bad gift box and then you remind everyone that using our words poorly (not just cuss words) is like receiving the bad gift box. Then ask the helps to give examples of good words they can use. If they come up with some then give them the good gift box (have candy or some other good gift inside) and let them have it. Let the Rangers know what a blessing our good words are to others.

Came up with this while pondering your question. God is Good!

God Bless,

Bob Triphahn

Subject: [RR] A RR is clean in Speech.

Hey gang, I need some help. I've got a couple of new boys in the outpost who have been using bad words while playing and stuff.  I would like to teach or have a devotion on being clean in speech. I've drawn a blank. I can't think of any bible story, scripture or good example about not using bad words. Any ideas?
