Place a lantern on a stool in the middle of the room and turn off the lights. Turn the lantern down so it isn't so bright.

Depending on your service:
A good thing to do before you go to a council fire is get all the boys and leaders together and explain that your glad they are having fun and they can be as loud as they want to be but for the next few minutes I am asking you guys to please help me by not talking or  joking around etc. We are going on a walk and  I want you to think of the good things in your life your families, friends and after we are done you can go back to your normal self.

Ask the commanders to help you with the boys to keep them quiet.

Hey all,
We are experiencing The Blessing of the Lord within our Rangers outpost.  Last week we had the most boys we've had since I've been with our outpost.  This week one of last week's first timers brought a friend to make even more than last week (16)!  Which brings me to a question for y'all.

Next weekend we are having a lock in.  We are making it an advancement lock in where we will earn the Ropecraft and Basic Sign Language Merits.  The boys are excited and planning on a lot of fun as we haven't had a lock in in about a year.  However, with new boys coming, I want to do an indoor council fire service to make an impact.  Brings me to my question for y'all to ponder.  Having never seen an actual council fire I don't know how to modify one for indoors.  Any suggestions for an indoor council fire?  Do I just give a short devotion or a slightly longer sermonette?  I know the main goal is to point the boys to Jesus, but the best way at a council fire would be how?

I only have a week to get this ready, so any help, suggestions, tips or pointers you can give me are gratefully appreciated.

In His Service,

DJ
