Brother Mark.. *Many "outside" personalities would approve RR becoming
"romper room" as it could still meet the mission statement of Reach-Teach and
Keep..

I don't desire that... neither do you.. we know it's something else! Let us
define what "else" it is
now in the critical time.. and "share it" with clear communication...
instead of confronting
pro-romper room forces... challenge them to let us.. develop what we have
now..
Strive for success... improve the content and training to meet the challenge
of
a new era... *and in the process Bless them..!

*I must have become "shifting sand" when I preached this to my "pastoral
staff" and
discovered there is no requirement on their part to respect the Ranger
handbook as "authority"..

*They were the "authority" and it was prefered that we shut down if we could
not support
our critics.

...comparing it as you do to scripture, will put you in danger. The 35 years
of wisdom is
"Lay led wisdom" and is being debated on it larger merits...in other forums.

*Don't fight! The "enemy" is not our shepards!

The current Uniform will remain... what is "proposed" is that another
"contemporary uniform"
be authorized for wear in the new program... The new program will be
better...

*Yes the changes are "shocking"...but now is our chance to make the "main
thing- truely the main thing"

Praise God for you willingness to testify in uniform to the public...

*perhaps..just perhaps.. we might allow the boys an *option?

I've been asked my whole life... since 1962 if I was a "Canadian Forest
Ranger"
*Yes that is an opportunity to testify. I find it easier at 47 to meet the
challenge however than
when I was 12 years old<G> *I was PROUD to ba a Royal Ranger.. and didn't see
the need
for 'defending the uniform... *but I did..

One way to get along in boys is to not wear the uniform...

*Thoughts about boys "self esteam" or "choices" may be behind the suggested
change in unifoming options..
