Dear Duane:
Excellent post. I am not sure if  I am living up to all of it but I sure do try to live up to that ideal. I fell short last Wednesday night because I didn't have a lesson plan prepared. These past two weeks have been in such a mess. I know! Thats no excuse and it isn't one.
The Lord lifted up the night and in walked a Lt. Commander with some ideas. He didn't seem to relish the the fact after the meeting when I showed him the new CDL I  had been working on. I realized afterward that he had been in a nasty truck accident about a year ago and had felt pretty broken up about it.
It seemed like the Lord was giving me the things to say and the ideas to do.
I told the boys that I wasn't prepared and then we took advantage of  planning the Pioneer activities for the year. We also got the boys fired up about camping, completing Merits and advancing.

Is this a "promise" made to the boys? *Who is the voice speeking?

"Your experiance as a Royal Ranger will be one of growth.
You will grow in 4 ways-
Through exercise and proper diet you will grow physicialy.
Through prayer, Bible study and whitnesing, you will grow spiritualy.
By studying and reading, your mind will grow mentaly.
And by learning how to treat others you will grow socially."

*Is this an description of the balanced program we have promised to
back?

WHAT I WANT TO KNOW... is this new thinking for you?

"Royal Rangers offers excellent training in first aid, emergency medical
systems in your area a family "Be Ready" plan and in distress signals."

*Excellent training?

*Be Ready plan?
*Distress signals?

Is this a promise to your boys?
*Do your boys read this and...
DREAM IT WILL BE THEM DOING THESE THINGS?

"Royal Rangers will address some of the real-life problems of being a
young
man in our society. You will learn things to say NO to drugs, sex, gangs
and
peer pressure. You will learn to say yes to your Outpost, your Church
and-
most importantly to Jesus Christ."

How we doing Commander?
*Are we Promise keepers?

...Outpost? ...Church?  ...Jesus?

"The life of the Pioneer is challenging but fun and exciteing...
Inside this handbook... lies a *trail... of High Adventure!"
