*Here's my spin on it..
Under the guideline of keeping the main thing the main thing..
I think teaching the 4 red points and the fundimentals of AG doctine is
a positive thing to do.. as well as answering specific questions the boys
ask..
..and showing them who to resorce out answers themselves..
Under "Teachible moments" I see that a situation may arise...however so far
in my OP it has not... Perhaps a achievement might drive the subject, I don't
know.
Inoculateing them "against cults" by teaching what "they" beleve "is wrong,"
just seems headed way outside the parmeters of the LTC.
We do not have a compareitive religions merit- and I think there is good
reason.
The Ranger CODE would have us *respect these people and enguage in Polite
Kind and thoughtfull terms... *Recent flaps over visits by GW Bush to Bob
Jones
University brought attention to speech that was aimed at a negitive view of
Cathloics and the pope. Good intentions sometimes lead us off course<G>
As in conversations about SEX... (*In compareison)
My inner-guidence system points to avoiding the subject save only "general"
issues
that might concern the boys and not delveing into everyaspect without a clear
call to do so.
My advise is to seek the opinion of Sr.Cdr. and Pastoral staff before
launching
a study of cults in your Outpost.
That's about it- save to say Good Post and I do think it worthy of this list.
