Alvin York's predicament was caused by misinterpretation of the Bible.
The reality is that the commandment is 'Thou shall not MURDER.'
God had no objection to killing those who deserved death.  There are
multiple instances of God directly ordering the killing of both
individuals and groups.

Objecting to war and/or violence is an individual decision that should be
respected, but Christians should be wary of using the Bible in defense
of such decisions...
