The enemies of the state, are not the enemies of Christ, and his commandment is to Love our enemies not *Kill or *Murder them. You have many denomination that hold such convictions against the participation in even the armed forces, and may be granted CO status on grounds of religious conviction. Our fellowship- the AoG has no such conviction and will not support or criticize decisions made by a CO. The US Armed forces has a process in place for such decisions by drafted objectors, though the experience is not pleasant and is confrontational. That is done to allow for alternative service or deferment as in the extreme.. people of conviction would not pull triggers or drop bombs or order fire from artillery and ships. That is not in the interest of the Military and could in fact jeopardize others... > > God had no objection to killing those who deserved death. If I was an objector I would stand on the Bible as my defense and as the word of the Lord.. and the USA can go reap the whirlwind! *One group that comes to mind is the Quakers... They recieved that "name" by manifestations of the *spirit and shook as the power of God came on them... Is that so different than a pentecostal experiance? *Yet their culture is so set apart from ours... As I grew up- in my Assembly of God church we had an American Flag and a Christian Flag in the church... *Which one is "greater?" -=A=- > > > At 09:40 AM 6/1/00 -0700, Duane Wheeler wrote: > > >*REFLECTION! > >============ > > > >What if he got the word like many that- > >"A Christian is to be an objector to violence and war" > > > >Would his objection and non-paricipation in WW1 grant us > >the right as Royal Rangers to criticize his decision? > > > >*If we stand before boys- should we NEVER mention > >the thoughts that passed through Alvin York as he struggled with > >his choices? *What does the Bible say? > > ============================================================ > Kenneth Komoto Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Pioneer Commander Outpost 193 Phone: (530)752-7197 > Southpointe Christian Center Fax : (530)752-0329 > Sacramento, Ca 95828 > > _______ > To unsubscribe, send "unsubscribe rangernet" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] > "Eat the hay & spit out the sticks! - A#1's mule" RTKB&G4JC! > http://rangernet.org Autoresponder: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- ࡱ
