We aren't too close to the Grand Canyon, but we are near Rocky Mountain
National Park. Between us and the Grand Canyon are Pike's Peak, Cave of the
Winds, Focus on the Family, Great Sand Dunes National Monument, Mesa Verde
National Monument (a bit charred, but still interesting), Four Corners, and
lots of highway. :-) North of us in Wyoming are Grand Teton National Park
(awesome) and Yellowstone National Park. In Utah, to the west, is arches
National Monument (and between here and there, in Western Colorado, is
Colorado National Monument). In New Mexico, there is Carlsbad Caverns,
which we visited on our family vacation this summer (as did about 200,000
bats, but they may have migrated south by the time you were thinking of
visiting). Then, of course, in Arizona, there is the Grand Canyon. Pictures
don't seem to do justice to this piece of God's desert handiwork. I think I
listed more to do than you have vacation time, but those are some neat
places. :-)
You are, of course, welcome to join us for church and/or Royal Rangers, if
you swing by Longmont. http://newcreation.net
