Confederate General TA Jackson received his 'name from
holding his line, to the praises of his Commander Gen RE Lee.

"There stands Jackson, like a stone wall!"

Jackson was know as a man of HONOR! and in his student days
at west point, when Taps -lights out was sounded.. would bank his
fireplace with coal to continue to study after putting out his light...

For his own use he began to compose a code of conduct for himself-
"Through life, let your principal object be the discharge of duty"

"Sacrifice your life, rather than fail your word"

In the Mexican war he was promoted to General for his valor under
fire. Though his Commander had fallen he did not run.. When asked
he replied: "I was not ordered to retreat, I was ordered to hold my
position and I have no right to abandon my duty"

Stonewall Jackson was a man of honor who admitted telling one lie.

"I stood in the fight and proclaimed to my men that there was no danger
to fear, when a cannon ball passed between my legs.. * I lied..."

Stonewall Jackson was also a man of faith, and famous for holding
rousing evangelical services around the campfire. He was mortally
wounded by his own men, and died in Honor.
