Mike

One verse God impressed upon me shortly after I became a christian was
Ephesians 6 12, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but
against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark
world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms". The
only thing I can say to your wife is, "Why let bickering people (even
christians) stand between you and a relationship with the living God. Taste
and see that the Lord is good or Don't knock it until you've tried it."

Love

BoW.
