I was driveing in past a major construction project on the way to work and I started thinking about the 1908 vintage bridge across the Columbia river leading to a 2000 version of Interstate 5... Why is it that "good 'nuff -isn't Good enough?" ---------------------------------------------- Time changes things! 1908 planners did the best they could to predict the uses of that bridge. They designed it for trolley traffic and trains, foot traffic and the new 1908 Model T Ford! Next to the bridge was an airfield at Fort Vancouver where the Army was milling spruce into airframes for the Curtuss Jenny airplane... This prop driven bi-plane had an "air speed indicator" that was a metal spoon attached to a strut wire. As the air speed increased the spoon bent backward on the strut wire and the "pilot" had to guess air speed from that clue!<G> ...good 'nuf! Times change.. the Jenny's only fly at air shows, but the Interstae *BRIDGE CARRIES TODAYS TRAFFIC EVERYDAY! When our purpose is to be useful... we do ourselves well to bridge across a natural obstacle! The obstical that Royal Rangers has bridged since 1962 is the transition from youth to manhood by our boys... Times change, but the natural obstical remains the same- What choices will the boys make. _______ To unsubscribe, send "unsubscribe rangernet" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] "Eat the hay & spit out the sticks! - A#1's mule" RTKB&G4JC! http://rangernet.org Autoresponder: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
