I just wonder why they let the younger boys earn it now? I always thought
that only an older boy should be the one to earn it upon completion of the
program part of the ministry. The new Challengers Medal of excellence doesn't
mean as much as it would seem. Do the Scouts let the Webelos wear Eagle Scout
merits? I think not. I personally am not excited about it being this way,
but as a good ranger I will go along with it. The original requirements seem
to be the best and that way is how many boys have earned that GMA, why should
they change it now? The boys who have it would feel like it means less if
less is doing the work less and not going through the whole program Wouldn't
it?
I just feel that a certain level of maturity needs to be displayed along with
the GMA and not just the paperwork. I'm not seeing that.
Just my opinion, please don't cook me on the rotisserie!
