Here's an article of interest to all campers. Fellow Rangers, beware!
Don't allow this to happen to one of your boys.

>From the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

A Marietta father and his 7 year-old son camping with their Cub Scout
pack Saturday night died in their sleep from carbon monoxide fumes
drifting off a smoldering charcoal grill.

Fellow campers at the Bert Adams Boy Scout Reservation south of
Covington discovered the bodies in their tent Sunday morning. With the
weather clear but very chilly, they apparently had pulled the circular,
black metal grill into the tent to keep warm and then zipped up the
tent, said Newton County Coroner Bob Wheeler.

They had cooked hot dogs on the grill earlier that evening.

"It's a tragic event," said Chuck Keathley of the Atlanta Area Council
of Boy Scouts. "We're trying to comfort the family as best we can."

Officials did not release the names of the victims Sunday evening
because the mother was out of town, and deputies were not able to
contact her.

An autopsy on both victims will be performed today, Wheeler said.
Investigators will test their blood to determine how much carbon
monoxide was present, he said.

"That'll probably be it," he said. "They used it for warmth, closing it
up inside the tent. There were no cooking implements around."

God bless you. Jesus Is Lord!
