Actually, Happy99.exe won't destroy your computer. It will embarass you,
and send copies of itself to everyone you send mail to and post itself to
every news group you post to. Also, the test of knowing who sent it doesn't
work, either for Happy99.exe or the Melissa virus, because both generally
come from someone you know (who had no idea that they sent it to you).

Don't run programs you get in email unless you know the person who sent it,
know why they sent it, and know what it is. The same goes for allowing
Microsoft Word or Excel macros to run.

A buckaroo asked me "Why do people write these things?"

It is a form of vandalism, I guess. It can also get you put in jail, like
the guy who unleashed the "Melissa" virus on the world.
