It wan't called the Authorized Version because James authorized it but
came to be called that from usage. BTW it is inappropriate to not
capitalize the Bible. And yes the english was out of date even by the
time of printing. That is one of the singular beauties of this
magnificent book. God put his timeless Word into English using a
specially prepared text in order to keep from losing the meaning of the
words as so many modern versions do. By using words that do not change He
has preserved His text for the English speaking people of all time. With
a little diligence one can glean the meaning of the few archaic words
present. Sometimes words foreign to our dulled and lazy ears cary the
exact or a deeper meaning than a more modern easy to understand word.
Try the word "mate " as used by Victor some months ago on this very
platform of e mail. Do you want the boys to do campcraft the Ranger way
to learn how to do things or an easier no skills involved new way, such
as one of those tents you throw and it sets itself up?
