My favorite memory was last year at the Potomac District powwow. Our theme
was racing. I was the acting Sectional Commander at the time, (Still am) I
got to get up before the entire District and receive a very special trophy for
the Capital Section. The trophy was special because it was called the
Christopher Robert Mays Memorial Basketball Trophy. Christopher Mays was a
young Ranger who loved to play basketball and ride his bike. One day while he
was riding his bike he was struck and killed by a hit and run driver. Mr.
Mays commissioned the trophy and awarded it to the Capital section infront of
the entire District. The Sectional Commander at the time, Roger Zollman, had
taken ill and I as the Deputy Sectional commander at the time had to be there
in his place. The Capital Section had done well and a boy from my own
outpost, # 68 Christ Chapel A/G had helped us to receive this trophy. I was
certainly honored and appreciative of the opportunity to be able to do that.
At the time I was the only one from the Sectional Staff at the powwow. Praise
God ----> He's due the Glory, a victory for HIM!
