Yes, we speak English but I belive that it is only present day mass
communication which stops the various branches of the language (British,
American, Australian, South African and so on) from becoming different
languages just as Italian, Spanish, French and Portuguese did. There are
currently forces at work (I believe) trying to change our language right
now - what a victory for the enemy if "wicked" was seen as meaning good or
worthwhile. Also, to be fair to the Roman Catholics, I have a copy of their
modern translation, the Jerusalem Bible, in which they point out that they
include some books and passages within books which other translations either
do not include or group in an Apocrypha (BTW unless it has changed practice
recently, the Anglican (Episcopalian) church always used a Bible which
included the apocrypha). Personally, I found some of the translation made
better sense than some of the protestant translations. In any case I find
that I only "understand" the Bible following conviction from the Holy
Spirit.
BoW.
