His words BTW.. *however I interp. them to mean.. "distraction from
a whole-boy *program"
How do you figure FCF takes away from RR?
I'm not sure he said that as none of his outpost participate in FCF..
*but I grant that FCF adds additional commitment as well as additional
events and responsibilities... *I'm on record as pointing out the failure
of Rangers to promote *excellent light weight "enviormentaly sound"
outdoor behavior... *pointedly, we as Commanders push the familiar
and shrink from other topics like *Nature Study *Star Gazeing or
*Orienteering...
*I see his point in my experiance where at the Rendezvou... I'd
rather compete in a Pioneering project than *Punch holes in paper..
Tho *I do enjoy the freedom to shoot my .50 cal TC "One Ball Bill"
We had a Commander come to FCF Family camp... He wanted to fellowship with
the others who lead in Rangers in our dist. and FCF Family camp seemed an
excellent place to do just that..
On arrivial, he set his tent and riged his family for a Powwow experiance
and all the events surrounded the various FCF skills of the Rendezvou
Trace w/hawk and knife.. *BP Shooting ect. *Right off he saw.. even tho
the fellowship was there.. it also was a "sport" that needed gear.. and
he was lacking both desire to aquire... and surprise at the "flavor"
of the events... *They were in fact.. FCF events<G>
All but two of

My example of this outstanding Commander showed me that our FCF fellowship
was thin with someone who might choose to *visit but not desire to
participate... *To those who belong... it might seem strange to see FCF
as a hard to "Get into the groove" fellowship.. This Commander enjoyed
the eve's campmeeting and everything familiar to a camp-out in a State
Park, however the "Frontier Flavor" just wasn't his cup of *coffee<G>
We have a very

100% yes... FCF is a asset.
It's a special thing... and the work is a joy.
It provide instant intrest to the boys, and many teachible moments
surround every stike of flint and steel and clang of the anvil...
*I sleep best in my Tipi on top a haybale... the sights and sounds
take me to a far-away special time... and I don't ever want it to end.
*What was said here was not a hit on FCF... but a choice made that has
equal say in matters... Membership in FCF is not a requirement.. but we
are Called to LOVE one another and *Prefere our brother's comfort to our's
in matters of hospitality and acceptence..
*Different voices... stir the pot and add flavor to the *Ranger Spirit..
